The Mapping of Speech

Dr. Chang specializes in awake brain surgery. The procedure is a rare collaboration between doctor and patient. Together, they test the brain in real time, identifying areas to preserve—those tied to language and movement—and areas to remove, whether a tumor or seizure-causing tissue.
